It is with joy that we can report that a laptop, generously donated to the Trust has now been received by Happy Masih, who runs a school in a Delhi Slum, India. Previously Happy had to travel some distance to an internet cafe to try and complete essential accounts, upload pictures and information etc, this was also costly to Happy who pays for a teacher’s salary and school maintenance and resources out of his own meagre wages. With a laptop now at his disposal he can spend more of his time at the school and also introduce basic computer skills to the children. Both Happy and the school children are overjoyed. Happy says ” Thank you so much for this beautiful gift, it is very helpful for my NGO work. My school children, family and myself pray for you and I pray that we all get together and do the work of God. Thank you so much, God bless you.”
The school building itself, in the heart of a large Delhi slum has a terribly leaky roof and is unsafe due to being built without foundations. We are campaigning to raise enough funds to re-build the school, adding firm foundations and a second floor which will increase capacity. This will enable the school to accommodate more vulnerable children who are desperate to receive an education and break out of the poverty cycle they were born into. If you can help us with this appeal we need to raise a further £2,500. You can buy a brick for just £5, and all donors names will be painted on a wall of honour.
