Gap Year Opportunities.
Are you interested at the
prospect of a Gap Year?
Would you like to volunteer to travel and help in needy areas
of the world?
Our Mission
The Epiphany Trust is a legally constituted charity, dedicated
to helping others, regardless of creed culture, by aid and education,
and by encouraging groups and individuals wishing to initiate
or continue their own projects.
What We Do
The Trust seeks in particular to serve the needs of disabled
or disadvantaged children and young people, by giving them material
aid, and assistance to adults who serve them. It is also dedicated
to supporting Christian political education and acts as a facilitator,
to encourage groups and organizations working for the good of
others.
The Gap Year
The Trust now offers great opportunities for people who want
to combine exciting gap year travel with voluntary work. You
can volunteer for a whole year or for just a few weeks if you
prefer and we positively encourage those wishing to take a career
break.
Here are some places where the Trust is working, and where
your volunteer help is needed:
- At The Lugoj Orphanage/special school,
- At The Arc, our 'half way house', Sinaia. A home for over
18s to enable
them to adjust to life away from state care.
- At the Epiphany centre on Anglesey as a member of the
"Chrysalis Team" providing educational holidays
for learning disabled. |

- With our partners Global Hand who supply gifts in
kind to counties around the world.
|

- With a young church in Kandy working with children
who live on the streets and with those traumatised by
the 20 year old civil war.
- With a partner N.G.O. in Galle assisting those still
suffering the affects of the tsunami.
- With learning disabled
children in the Hill Country.
|
The work can be extremely varied and different projects arise
from time to time. Detailed above are those where we currently
require volunteers.
But it isn't all work and no play.
Bathing with Elephants, visiting Dracula's castle, enjoying
the most perfect beaches, making life long friends, experiencing
new cultures and most of all knowing your help was much needed
and so gratefully received.
Everyone gets an individually tailored programme, which is
costed to suit your requirements.
So if you want to join us on a Gap year or even just for a
few weeks or if you want to know more about the opportunities
on offer please get in touch.
Testimonies
"I
spent eight months away from home on an Epiphany gap year. I
had the most amazing time and I recommend it to anyone interested
- not just because of the diversity of experiences in each country
and not just because of the friends you make, but because you're
able to help others and see the difference your help has made
to so many lives."
Gareth Hill, 21 (a qualified joiner) worked
on projects in Romania, Kosovo & Sri Lanka.
"
The experience I had in Romania was truly remarkable, and the
love and affection which the four young adults gave me cannot
be put into words. The experience will remain with me forever,
and I will continue to visit them as they continue to grow and
develop. They are now a big part of my life."
Sharon Noon 22, speaking of her year at
the "Arc".
