Background
Supported by the European Social Fund, the Ignite programme
is designed to help those with particular social needs to set
up a new, or develop an existing, business of their own.
The Trust acts to enable participating business to develop their
plans, marketing and IT strategies and web sites. Participants
are able to pursue the NVQ level 3 course. Our programme takes
place in the European Objective One area of Merseyside.
Marketing and Candidate Recruitment
Ten candidates have signed onto the programme, with five places
remaining. The types of organisations and the candidates that
have been recruited are as follows:

Commencement of Training
The first activity of the programme is to develop the individual
training plan for each candidate. This identifies the training
and development needs of the candidate and is used ti determine
whether candidates need additional support to meet their needs.
Already some candiates have received this one to one support.
The formal lecture based training is anticipate to commence
in late October and every month thereafter
Training will be provided in a number of ways: lectures, one-to-one
advisories, business mentoring and web-ICT support
Website Development
Each candidate is entitled to receive a web site as part of
the programme. It is intended to provide the web site "some
time" into the programme for the following reasons:
A master file is being developed for the Project which contains:
financial records ,beneficiary records, outputs and NVQ unit achievements
The accountant will be involved throughout the whole of the delivery
of the programme and provide independent information to the Epiphany
trust that the project is meeting its objectives and conditions
of grant. The initial objectives the accountant will undertake
are as follows:
A final Accountant's certificate will be provided for the Government
Office as a project closure report. This report will confirm the
outputs of the programme: web site, NVQ achievement, companies
legally formed, jobs created and new businesses secured
