Commencement of Training

The first activity of the programme is to develop the individual training plan for each candidate. This identifies the training and development needs of the candidate and is used ti determine whether candidates need additional support to meet their needs. Already some candiates have received this one to one support. The formal lecture based training is anticipate to commence in late October and every month thereafter

Training will be provided in a number of ways: lectures, one-to-one advisories, business mentoring and web-ICT support

Website Development

Each candidate is entitled to receive a web site as part of the programme. It is intended to provide the web site "some time" into the programme for the following reasons:

  • To ensure candidates are committed to the programme and not simply wanting the web site alone

  • To work with the candidate on the marketing plan, so that the web site which will form part of the promotional literature, "fits in" with the marketing strategy

  • To spread the workload across the year so as not to overburden delivery resources

Audit and Master File

A master file is being developed for the Project which contains: financial records ,beneficiary records, outputs and NVQ unit achievements

The accountant will be involved throughout the whole of the delivery of the programme and provide independent information to the Epiphany trust that the project is meeting its objectives and conditions of grant. The initial objectives the accountant will undertake are as follows:

  • Confirm the methodologies adopted to run the programme

  • Confirm candidate numbers and their eligibility to receive support from the programme

  • Confirm expenditure and in-kind contributions

  • Verify the veracity of financial claims made to the Epiphany Trust

A final Accountant's certificate will be provided for the Government Office as a project closure report. This report will confirm the outputs of the programme: web site, NVQ achievement, companies legally formed, jobs created and new businesses secured
