What is a Chrysalis Holiday?
Chrysalis Holidays offer opportunities for adults with learning
disabilities, both young and old, to participate in indoor and
outdoor activities that are both fun and educational. Since
1991 we have offered a wide range of supported holidays throughout
the year. Based on a variety of themes, there is something for
all tastes and abilities. Our themed weeks include art and crafts,
music, wildlife & nature, adventure, farming, transport, summer,

a fun experience in a safe environment. Each week has a full
itinerary for both daytime and evening. Individual needs and
interests are always considered and people are encouraged to
do as much as possible for themselves, making the holiday an
active and not a passive experience.

in a broad spectrum of educational and leisure opportunities.

experience, incorporating personal development, self advocacy
and social education.
Home Visits
If you are newcomers to Chrysalis Holidays
we will visit you at home prior to your holiday as part of our
comprehensive care package to discuss your personal requirements.
This enables us to introduce ourselves, explain the holiday
programme and discuss any special needs. After discussions,
either party has the option to cancel or change to another holiday,
without loss of the booking deposit, should the holiday chosen
be considered not suitable. Home visits are a unique part of
our service and are offered at no extra charge If distance makes
a home visit too difficult, you will be asked to provide us
with a pen profile giving us as much information as possible
about level of care needed.
Care & Keyworkers
Our experienced staff team are on hand 24 hours a day to assist
with any eventuality and lead the programmes. Our fully supported
holidays offer one-to-three customer care as an absolute minimum.
This is a service second to none in our field, because we recognise
along with you, the importance of a high level of care during
residential breaks. This enables us to support people both physically
and emotionally. We also offer one-to-one customer care for
those who need a higher level of support and Special Care Sensory
Breaks for those with more complex needs. You may also choose
the size of group from smaller Choice Holidays (4 people) to
larger groups (8 - 12 people).
Where do the holidays take place?
Mostly at 'Bryn Arfor,' our own 8 bedroomed Country Guest House,
overlooking Bull Bay on the north coast of Anglesey, North Wales.
Acquired in spring 2000, we have adapted the property for our
needs, giving us the best of both worlds - freedom and informality
and the facilities of a hotel. Each year we also run holidays
in a growing number of other locations: the Lake District, Ireland,
Blackpool, Lanzarote, and Granda to name a few...
How do I get there?
The holiday price includes
transportation from one of our 4 meeting points in the North
West (Lymm, Lowton, Newton-le-Willows, Chester*). Home
pick-ups are also available and are charged at £40 return
within a 20 mile radius of the Chrysalis office. Outside this
area prices are calculated individually.

Which holiday should
I choose, and how do I book?
Information and pricing of
each holiday are detailed in the
brochure. Simply choose the holiday which interests you
most and complete the booking
form, then send it with your deposit to the office (address
below). We will then acknowledge your deposit and confirm your
booking. If you are new to us we will make an arrangement for
a home visit. If you are undecided or want to check on availability
simply telephone the office and we will be happy to talk through
any queries.
